6-day Kochi Thekkady Alleppey Cherai Tour

Day 1: Kochi to Thekkady

Arrival at Kochi. Pick-up from the airport/railway station and proceed to Thekkady (approx. 5–6 hrs), famous for the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary. En route, enjoy scenic views of spice plantations, rubber estates, cardamom hills, waterfalls, and forest landscapes. On arrival, check in at the hotel. Evening at leisure or optional visit to a spice plantation or cultural programmes such as Kathakali or Kalaripayattu.

Day 2: Thekkady – Full Day at Leisure & Optional Activities

Today, you may participate in a variety of interesting forest-related activities organised by the Forest Department, available on an hourly, half-day, full-day, or day-and-night basis (subject to availability). All programs are guided by forest guards, many of whom were once poachers but are now rehabilitated and trained protectors, offering a unique and authentic forest experience. In addition, several optional activities are available outside the forest and conducted by private operators, including off-road jeep safaris, visits to spice plantations and elephant parks, shopping at Kashmiri emporiums, Ayurvedic massage centres, cultural programmes such as Kathakali and Kalaripayattu (martial arts), magic shows, dancing fountain shows, and visits to the local spice market. In Thekkady, all activities are optional, allowing you to choose and enjoy your preferred experiences at a relaxed pace.

Day 3: Thekkady – Alleppey (Houseboat)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Alleppey, 5 hours, the “Venice of the East.” Board a traditional Kerala houseboat by noon and enjoy a relaxing backwater cruise through canals, paddy fields, coconut groves, village life, and bird sightings. All meals, including a welcome drink, lunch, evening tea with snacks, dinner, and breakfast, will be served onboard. The houseboat anchors in the backwaters in the evening for a peaceful overnight stay. Houseboat Timings: Check-in: 12:00 noon | Cruise: 12:00 noon–5:30 pm (with lunch break). Morning cruise: 8:00–9:00 am | Check-out: 9:00 am

Day 4: Alleppey – Cherai Beach via Fort Kochi (Sightseeing)

After breakfast, disembark from the houseboat and drive towards Cherai Beach. En route, enjoy sightseeing in Fort Kochi, including Mattancherry Palace, Jew Town, St. Francis Church, Chinese fishing nets, and heritage streets (time permitting). Continue to Cherai Beach and check in at the hotel or resort. The rest of the day is free to relax on the beach and enjoy the coastal ambience.

Day 5: Cherai – Athirappilly Waterfalls – Cherai

After breakfast, proceed for an excursion to Athirappilly Waterfalls, popularly known as the “Niagara of India.” Enjoy the scenic drive through forest areas and visit Athirappilly and, if time permits, Vazhachal Waterfalls. Later, return to Cherai Beach. Evening free for leisure.

Day 6: Cherai – Kochi Drop

After breakfast, check out of the hotel and proceed to Kochi. Optional sightseeing depending on departure time and point of Departure, such as Marine Drive, Lulu Mall, or Kodanad Elephant Training Centre (subject to time and point of departure).
Drop-off at Kochi Airport/Railway Station.
