5-Day Kochi Thekkady Alleppey Cherai Tour

Day 1: Kochi to Thekkady

Arrival at Kochi. Pick-up from the airport or railway station and drive to Thekkady (4–5 hrs), enjoying scenic views of lush greenery, spice plantations, and hill towns en route. On arrival, check in to the hotel and relax. Optional activities (subject to arrival time and availability): Periyar Lake boating inside the Thekkady–Periyar Forest (last boating around 3:00 pm). Evening options include Kathakali or Kalaripayattu shows, magic show, musical dancing fountain, Ayurvedic massage, visits to Kashmiri shops, and the local spice market.

Day 2: Thekkady Sightseeing

After breakfast, sightseeing in and around Thekkady. You may choose from a variety of forest-based eco-tourism programmes conducted by the Forest Department, available on an hourly, half-day, full-day, or day-and-night basis. These activities are accompanied by trained forest guards—many of whom are rehabilitated former poachers—offering a unique insight into the forest and wildlife. Optional activities by private operators outside the forest include: elephant rides, off-road jeep safaris, Kathakali and martial arts shows, magic shows, musical fountains, shopping at Kashmiri outlets, and Ayurvedic massage centres. Guests may select and enjoy activities of their interest.

Day 3: Thekkady to Alleppey

After breakfast, check out and drive to Alleppey (4–5 hrs). Houseboat check-in time is 12:00 noon, and check-out is 9:00 am the next day. On arrival, check in to the houseboat and begin your backwater experience. Enjoy a relaxing cruise through serene canals, lakes, paddy fields, and village life. Witness domestic and migratory birds, swimming ducks, palm groves, vegetable farms, toddy tapping, floating shops, and various country boats moving along the waterways. Take in the beauty of the sunset and sunrise while enjoying all meals on board and a comfortable overnight stay in a well-equipped houseboat with modern facilities. Cruise timings:12:00 noon to 5:30 pm (with a one-hour lunch break) and 8:00 am to 9:00 am.

Day 4: Alleppey to Cherai Beach with Fortkochi sightseeing

After breakfast, check out from the houseboat and drive towards Cherai Beach (approx. 3–4 hrs including sightseeing). En route, explore Fort Kochi, visiting the Chinese Fishing Nets, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica, and the heritage spice streets.

Later, continue to Cherai Beach and check in to your hotel or beach resort. Spend the evening at leisure — relax on the sandy beach, enjoy sunset views over the Arabian Sea, explore nearby backwaters, or try cycling and local seafood cafés. Note: Guests who prefer extended beach time may skip the Fort Kochi visit and proceed directly to Cherai.

Day 5: Cherai to Kochi (Departure)
After breakfast, check out and proceed to Kochi. Optional sightseeing includes Marine Drive, Lulu Mall, or Kodanad Elephant Kraal, subject to available time and point of departure (airport or railway station).
