Day 3: Munnar to Thekkady (Forest)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Thekkady (approximately 3–4 hours), home to the renowned Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary.

The scenic drive takes you through rolling tea plantations, lush forests, and fragrant spice plantations. Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and relax.

As you will be staying in Thekkady for only one night, the best opportunity to spot wildlife is the boat safari on Periyar Lake within the sanctuary. The last boat departs at 3:00 pm, so it is important to reach the ticket counter well in advance to purchase your tickets and board on time.

Enjoy a memorable boat ride through the tranquil waters of Periyar Lake, where you may have the chance to see elephants, deer, wild boar, birds, and other wildlife along the lake shore.

After the boating experience, you may choose from a variety of optional activities, including a traditional Kathakali performance, a Kalaripayattu (Kerala martial arts) show, an elephant ride, spice shopping, or a relaxing Ayurvedic massage.

Day 4: Thekkady to Alleppey (Backwaters — Houseboat)

Board a traditional Kerala houseboat by noon and begin a relaxing cruise through the tranquil backwaters. As you glide along the scenic canals, enjoy views of lush paddy fields, coconut groves, charming villages, local life, vegetable farms, ducks swimming in the waterways, floating shops, and a variety of birds.

A traditional Kerala lunch will be served onboard, followed by evening tea with snacks, dinner, and breakfast the next morning. You will also be welcomed with a refreshing welcome drink upon boarding.

In the evening, the houseboat anchors in a peaceful stretch of the backwaters, allowing you to enjoy a calm and relaxing overnight stay surrounded by nature.
