Day 2: Munnar sightseeing trip—Duration: From 9 am to 6 pm.
Start sightseeing trip from 9.00 am to 6 pm. Your driver will take you to attractive sites and activity spots. Day 3: Munnar — Thekkady 110 km / 3.5 hour via Poopara
Start your trip at 9.00 am. You are travelling today to Thekkady via several most attractive landscapes. Several most scenic sights are on this route. The extraordinary landscapes, often mist-clad, will make you want to stop your vehicle frequently for photographs. After reaching Thekkady, check into your resort and refresh. Thekkady is ideal to buy organic spices, tea and coffee. You can participate in stage shows conducted by private parties in the evenings. Day 5: Thekkady — Kumarakom (backwater resort) 125 Km / 4 hours.
Start your journey at 7 am. You may take about 4 hours on the road. Upon reaching Kumarakom, check into your resort and refresh. Kumarakom is a laid-back village surrounded by water and waterways. You may see here many backwater resorts, a popular bird sanctuary famous for migrating birds. Various small boats and houseboats offer cruise services here. Day 6: Kumarakom — Alleppey (backwaters) 35 Km /1.5 hour.
You have to start your journey today at about 10.30 am. Upon reaching, check into the houseboat before noon — The houseboat has all the modern facilities like a hotel for bath-attached airconditioned rooms, audio, and video systems, etc. However, the facilities and quality differ according to the standard, deluxe, and premium category houseboat. The mangroves, bushes, vegetable groves, groups of coconut palms, green or golden rice fields, groups of ducks, various birds, and the happy lives of the village folks living happily with their limited resources in their small hamlets are the sights to grab your heart. Day 7: Alleppey — Fort Kochi (monuments and heritages) 60 Km /2 hours + 25 km to Cherai by ferry and road.
You might be ready on the houseboat at 9 am. Your driver will pick you up and take you to Fort Kochi, a place of heritages and souvenirs of various foreign dominances. Chinese fishing nets, Indo-Portuguese Museum, Princess Street, St. Francis's church, Fort Kochi beach, Mattancherry Dutch Palace, Synagogue, Jew's street, Kashmiri shops, and the shops of antiques, handicrafts and curio products are the most visited tourist spots in this region. Day 8: Enjoy the beach and be ready for your return.
Enjoy the beach today. The beach is calm and not much crowded. Facilities are available at the resort and private agencies outside. There is a gorgeous backwater expanse opposite the beach. You can avail here cruises on small boats. Since it is your returning day, make sure you reach your returning station in time. The trip ends after taking you to your station.
